I hadn't really planned on roasting chile, as I'd made quickie batches of chile verde using canned (occasionaly bottled) green chile sauce/salsa OR finding already roasted green chile and supplementing the sauce. I wasn't about to hunt down some already roasted chile out here and decided to
try roasting them myself when I discovered the chili in stock looked pretty good. At the time of purchase I thought I might be lighting up the Weber to roast them, but decided that was too much trouble and used the broiler on the trusty old Kenmore. I bought 5 chili peppers, you can see what a couple of them looked like before...
